YOUTH 2023 Workshop Applications Now Open

By Chris Wilterdink

UPDATE: Workshop Leadership Applications for YOUTH 2023 are now closed. Stay tuned for schedule announcements in March!

Workshops are a core component of YOUTH 2023. On July 26 and 27, 2023, the morning and early afternoon will be filled with a wide variety of opportunities to learn and explore practical faith, creative arts, and theology, and expand what participants know about worldwide connections and ministries of the church.

Most workshops will take place more than once and are drop-in, meaning participants do not need to sign up in advance. However, there will be some workshop experiences that require signing up ahead of time and committing multiple hours to attend. Workshops are each 60 minutes in length, and attendees can attend up to three different workshops on July 26 and 27 of YOUTH 2023.

About 90 percent of these workshops will be designed specifically for youth audiences. Adult chaperones can attend these alongside youth, but that is not required. About 10 percent of workshops will be designed to equip and empower adult chaperones and ministry leaders for more effective ministry.

Do you have an important topic for a YOUTH 2023 workshop? Are you comfortable leading a room of over 100 people in activities and discussions? We would love to hear from you!

Youth and adults are both welcome to apply to lead a workshop at YOUTH 2023. More details are available on our basic application, but here are a few important details:

If selected, you’d provide a one-hour workshop on the topic of your choice. We would prefer that you lead that same workshop multiple times, ideally four different times.

Workshop leadership receives a $150 honorarium per session, so leading the same workshop four different times would equal a $600 honorarium. Travel or lodging are not covered.

Workshop leaders would need to provide a recent background check or be willing to go through YOUTH 2023’s background check procedures to meet Safe Sanctuaries® guidelines.
