Feeling of Awe

By Jeremiah Bohol

Every time I look at the stars, I marvel at the beauty before me. It leaves me in awe and makes me realize how small I actually am in the vastness of God's creation.

Christian life can be tough. Just expressing your faith in school or to your friends can be challenging. I can certainly relate to it. During my younger years, I studied in a public school and my religious background caused me to standout. I found it hard to share my wonderful relationship with Christ with my classmates because it was out of context for them. During those times where I felt alone, I learned we need to interact with fellow believers who can inspire and teach us. Otherwise, living a solitary life with your beliefs and convictions in the Lord becomes baggage that can weigh us down.

There is one God who is the Father of all people.

Ephesians 4:4-6 reminds us that believers are meant to cling together: “All of you are part of the same body. There is only one Spirit of God, just as you were given one hope when you were chosen to be God’s people. We have only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. There is one God who is the Father of all people. Not only is God above all others, but also he works by using all of us, and he lives in all of us.”

Barricades such as identity, race, nationality, country, and ethnicity divide us from one another. But God is the body and we are the parts—He connects us all. Because of our connection to God and with each other, He helps us overcome the barriers of this world and binds us together. When I had the opportunity to join a national conference of Christian believers, I experienced the awe that comes from realizing I am part of a bigger system. I was reminded that our actions can move others, our thoughts can inspire someone, and that our prayers can definitely change lives.

Christians are scattered across the globe. Many are in the cities, some in rural towns, and others even live in remote areas. Even though we are dispersed, not a single one of us is alone with their struggles and never will be. It’s because of our conviction; the passion in serving, the goal of sharing the gospel, and our desire to help people, that keeps us closer with each other.

No matter where you might be right now, or the hardships that you are experiencing, know that someone is praying for your safety, well-being and for you to overcome the trials you are facing. We are all connected through Christ.
